Smile Makeover in Hamilton — Veneers, Whitening, and Complete Cosmetic Dentistry

You have a national conference in September and you’re dreading the photos. Or you’ve spent years hiding your smile in family pictures. Or you looked in the mirror recently and realized your teeth make you look older than you feel. You searched “smile makeover hamilton cost” because you need to know what a complete smile transformation costs, what it can include, and whether you can get it done before a specific date on your calendar.

At Red Rose Dentistry, a smile makeover is not a single procedure. It’s a customized combination of treatments—veneers, bonding, whitening, orthodontics, crowns, or implants—designed around your goals, your budget, and your timeline. A complete smile makeover typically costs $2,500 to $15,000 depending on which procedures you need and how many teeth are involved. This page explains what’s possible, what it costs, and how to start.

What a Smile Makeover Can Include — Common Treatment Combinations

A smile makeover at Red Rose Dentistry is built around one question: what bothers you about your smile? Dr. Firas starts with your answer, then designs a treatment plan that addresses each concern with the least invasive procedure that produces the result you want.

Here are the most common combinations, based on real patient cases:

Combination 1: The Refresh — Whitening + Bonding

    • Best for: Stained teeth, one or two chipped teeth, minor gaps or uneven edges

    • What’s included: In-office whitening + composite bonding on 1–4 teeth

    • Timeline: 1–2 appointments over 2 weeks

    • Cost: $800–$2,000

    • Example: James, the financial advisor from Stoney Creek, had yellowed teeth and small lateral incisors creating gaps. Whitening brightened his natural teeth. Bonding on two teeth closed the gaps and improved proportion. Total cost: $1,400.

Combination 2: The Alignment Refresh — Orthodontics + Whitening

    • Best for: Crooked or crowded teeth with staining; no structural damage to teeth

    • What’s included: ClearCorrect or braces + professional whitening after alignment

    • Timeline: 6–12 months (aligners) + 1 whitening appointment

    • Cost: $4,500–$7,000

    • Example: Marcus, the teacher from Hamilton Mountain, had crowded lower teeth and minor wear on upper teeth. ClearCorrect for 7 months aligned everything. Whitening afterward gave him a bright, straight smile. Total cost: $4,800.

Combination 3: The Restoration — Crowns + Bonding + Whitening

    • Best for: Old crowns that don’t match, worn teeth, chips, moderate staining

    • What’s included: Crown replacement on 1–3 teeth + bonding on adjacent teeth + whitening to match

    • Timeline: 3–5 appointments over 4–6 weeks

    • Cost: $4,000–$8,000

    • Example: Susan, the retiree from Dundas, had an old crown that didn’t match, worn edges on adjacent teeth, and general staining. One new crown, bonding on two teeth, and whitening created a uniform smile. Total cost: $5,200.

Combination 4: The Full Transformation — Veneers + Whitening + Orthodontics

    • Best for: Multiple cosmetic concerns—color, shape, alignment, wear

    • What’s included: Porcelain veneers on 6–8 upper teeth + whitening on lower teeth + ClearCorrect if alignment is needed first

    • Timeline: 3–6 months (longer if orthodontics included)

    • Cost: $8,000–$15,000

    • Example: A patient with significant wear, moderate crowding, and deep staining achieved a complete transformation with 6 months of ClearCorrect followed by 8 porcelain veneers and lower whitening. Total cost: $13,500.

For real patient before-and-after transformations, see our smile makeover patient stories.

The consultation determines your combination. You don’t need to know which procedures you need before you come in. Dr. Firas examines your teeth, listens to your goals, and recommends the specific combination that produces your best result—no more, no less.

What a Smile Makeover Costs at Red Rose Dentistry

Here are the individual procedure costs that make up a smile makeover. Your total cost depends on which procedures are combined and how many teeth are treated.

    • Temporary restorations (if needed) while permanent veneers or crowns are fabricated

    • Final adjustments to ensure comfort and aesthetics

    • Post-treatment care instructions

Payment plans: We offer in-house payment arrangements with no credit check, no interest, and no third-party financing. A typical structure is 30% deposit with the balance divided into monthly payments. For a $7,000 makeover, a $2,100 deposit leaves $4,900—approximately $270/month over 18 months.

Insurance: Most cosmetic procedures (whitening, veneers) are not covered by dental insurance. Orthodontics may have partial coverage. Crowns and implants may have partial coverage if they serve a functional purpose. We submit predeterminations before treatment so you know exactly what your plan covers.

Treatment Timeline — Can a Smile Makeover Work for Your Deadline

Anita, the real estate agent from Ancaster, needed her smile ready for a September conference. She came to us in May—four months out. Here’s what was possible:

What can be done in 1–2 weeks:

    • Professional whitening

    • Composite bonding on 1–4 teeth

    • Minor chip repair or edge reshaping

What can be done in 4–6 weeks:

    • Crown replacement (1–3 teeth) + whitening + bonding

    • Porcelain veneers (6–8 teeth) without prior orthodontics

What can be done in 3–6 months:

    • ClearCorrect or short-term orthodontics + whitening

    • Veneers + crown replacement + bonding (full smile makeover without major orthodontics)

    What takes 6–12 months:

    • Full orthodontic treatment (ClearCorrect, braces) before cosmetic work

    • Full transformation involving orthodontics + veneers

Anita’s plan: Dr. Firas recommended whitening plus 6 porcelain veneers on her upper front teeth—the teeth visible when she smiles. Her lower teeth were in good condition and didn’t need treatment. The timeline: 5 weeks from first appointment to final placement. She had her new smile by late June, well ahead of the September conference.

The September deadline question: If you’re reading this in June, July, or August and you have an event in September, veneers, bonding, whitening, and crown work are all achievable. Full orthodontic treatment is not—but Dr. Firas can discuss short-term options that improve your smile without full alignment.

Bring your event date to your consultation. Dr. Firas will build your treatment plan backward from that date and tell you honestly what’s achievable.

Dr. Firas’s Smile Design Philosophy — Natural, Not Fake

The biggest fear patients bring to a smile makeover consultation is looking fake. Too white. Too square. Too perfect. The kind of smile that announces “dental work” from across the room.

Dr. Firas’s approach is the opposite: the best cosmetic dental work is invisible. People should notice that you look good—healthy, confident, vibrant. They should not notice your dental work.

    This means:

Color is matched to you. Not to a paint-chip white that doesn’t exist in nature. Dr. Firas matches veneers, crowns, and bonding to a shade that looks like your natural teeth at their healthiest—with subtle variation and translucency, not a solid block of white.

Shape follows your face. Tooth shape should complement your facial structure, age, and gender. A 50-year-old woman with perfectly square, perfectly uniform teeth looks unnatural because natural teeth show some character with age. Dr. Firas designs smiles that are appropriate for the person wearing them.

Less is often more. Not every smile makeover requires 10 veneers. Some patients need orthodontics plus whitening. Others need bonding on two teeth and a crown replacement. Dr. Firas recommends the minimum treatment that achieves your goals—not the maximum treatment your credit card might allow.

For full details on Dr. Firas’s philosophy and real patient examples, see our smile makeover patient stories.

The Smile Makeover Process at Red Rose Dentistry

Step 1: Free Consultation and Smile Analysis
You sit down with Dr. Firas and tell him what bothers you about your smile. Not what he sees clinically—what you see in the mirror. He examines your teeth, gums, and bite. He takes photos and, if needed, a digital scan. Using digital smile design software, he can show you a preview of what your smile could look like with different treatment options.

    Step 2: Custom Treatment Plan
Dr. Firas designs a treatment plan specific to your goals, your teeth, and your timeline. The plan lists each recommended procedure, the sequence, the timeline, and the exact cost. You receive this in writing. You take it home, review it, and decide when you’re ready to begin.

    Step 3: Treatment Begins
Depending on your plan, treatment may start with orthodontics (aligners), preparation for veneers or crowns, or whitening to establish a baseline shade. Each phase is scheduled at intervals that work for your calendar.

Step 4: Temporary Restorations (If Applicable)
If you’re getting veneers or crowns, Dr. Firas places temporary restorations while the permanent ones are fabricated. The temporaries give you a preview of the final result—you can test-drive the shape, length, and proportions before the permanent restorations are made.

    Step 5: Final Placement
Permanent veneers, crowns, or bonding are placed and adjusted. Dr. Firas checks the fit, the bite, and the aesthetics. You approve the result before you leave.

    Step 6: Follow-up
A brief follow-up appointment two weeks later confirms everything feels natural and looks right. Most patients need no adjustments—but if anything feels off, Dr. Firas addresses it at no additional cost.

What to Expect at Your Smile Makeover Consultation

Your consultation with Dr. Firas is free, takes 30–45 minutes, and comes with no obligation. Free parking is available at our James Street clinic.

    What happens:

    1. You tell Dr. Firas what bothers you about your smile. Bring photos of smiles you like—not to copy, but to communicate the aesthetic you’re drawn to.

    2. He examines your teeth, gums, bite, and existing restorations.

    3. He takes digital photos and may take a quick scan for the smile preview.

    4. He shows you a digital preview of what your smile could look like.

    5. You receive a written treatment plan with exact pricing, timeline, and payment options.

There is no pressure. No follow-up calls. No “today only” pricing. No upselling. Dr. Firas gives you his best recommendation and you decide when—and if—you want to proceed.

What to bring: Photos of smiles you admire. Your event date if you have one. Your insurance information if applicable. Your questions—write them down so you don’t forget.

Questions Hamilton Patients Ask About Smile Makeovers

    How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers last 10–15 years with proper care. Composite bonding lasts 5–8 years before it may need replacement or refreshing. The longevity depends on your oral hygiene, whether you grind your teeth (a night guard protects them), and avoiding habits like chewing ice or opening packages with your teeth. Dr. Firas will discuss expected longevity for each procedure during your consultation.

Will my teeth look fake after a smile makeover?

Not if the makeover is designed well. The “fake” look comes from three mistakes: teeth that are too white for the patient’s age and skin tone, teeth that are too uniform in shape and color, and teeth that don’t fit the patient’s facial proportions. Dr. Firas avoids all three. The goal is a smile that looks like you—just the healthiest, most attractive version of you. See our patient stories for examples.

What if I don’t like the result?

The temporary restorations give you a preview. If you don’t like the shape, length, or proportions, Dr. Firas adjusts them before the permanent restorations are made. After final placement, if something feels off or looks different than you expected, Dr. Firas addresses it. In 20-plus years, he has never had a patient unhappy with their final result—because the temporary phase catches any concerns before the permanent work is done.

Do I need orthodontics before veneers?

Not always. If your teeth are straight or have only minor misalignment, veneers can be placed without prior orthodontics. If your teeth are significantly crowded or your bite is uneven, orthodontics first creates a better foundation for the veneers and a more natural final result. Dr. Firas will tell you honestly which approach serves your case. He does not recommend orthodontics unless it significantly improves the outcome.
